Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch

Michael T. Downey (Mr. Hatch)
Michael is is a 2009 graduate of the University of South Carolina's MFA program and a newcomer to the Chicago area. His favorite stage credits include Katurian in The Pillowman, John Pace Seavering in The Violet Hour, and Bottom in A Midsummer Nights Dream. While in Chicago, he's worked with The Strange Tree Group (Hey! Mr. Spaceman!, King Phycus) and First Folio Theatre. When not on stage, he teaches acting for The Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble and works as a commercial and voiceover artist.
Micah J.L. Kronlokken (Mr. Goober, Co-worker 2, Mr. Todd)
Micah is thrilled to be making both his Lifeline and Chicago area debut! Elsewhere, favorite credits include: Max in Lend Me A Tenor at Pioneer Playhouse in Danville, KY; Horatio in Hamlet with 3AM Productions of Minneapolis, MN; Jack in The Boys Next Door, Ben Silverman in The Sunshine Boys, and V.P. Douglas Panch in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Highland Summer Theatre of Mankato, MN. Micah is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato (BFA). While at MSU-M favorite roles included CB in Dog Sees God and Patrick Dennis in Mame.
Sara Sevigny (Mrs. Weed and Ruffy, Co-worker 1, Mr. & Mrs. Dunwoody)
Sara is making her Lifeline debut and thrilled to be a part of this fabulous cast. A proud ensemble meber of Factory Theatre and co-founder of Open Eye Productions, Sara has most recently been seen in Boojum! Nonsense, Truth, and Lewis Carroll (Chicago Opera Vanguard/Caffeine Theatre). She's also worked with companies such as TimeLine, Porchlight Music Theater, Griffin, Backstage Theatre, Circle, the hypocrites, and Stage Left.
Tuckie White (Tina Finn, Ms. Smith, Melanie Todd)
Tuckie is thrilled to be making her Lifeline Theatre debut. A recent graduate of The DePaul Theatre School, some favorite roles include Hope Cladwell in Urinetown (dir. Dexter Bullard) and Solange in The Maids (dir. Keira Fromm). Since graduation, Tuckie has been part of productions at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Route 66, Prop Theater, Rodez, as well as several others. Recent Chicago credits include Alice in The Possession of Alice Von Truskin (Prop Theater) and Fifi in the Big Funk (Red Tape Theater).
Timothy Cahill (Understudy)
This is Timothy's first production with Lifeline. His recent Chicago credits include The Mikado with the Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company and Hedda Gabbler with A Room of One's Own. He has also performed at the Great River Shakespeare Festival. He is an alumnus of the University of Northern Iowa.
Victoria Abram-Copenhaver (Understudy)
Victoria is very pleased to be working with Lifeline Theatre. Recent credits include Doo Listerís Blues at National Pastime Theatre (Rebecca), The Better Doctor with Bootstrap Comedy Theatre (Gorilla, Mumps), Messiah on the Frigidaire with Hubris Productions (The Boy) and Gossamer at Adventure Stage Chicago (John). Victoria graduated from Saint Maryís College and was nominated for an Irene Ryan award for her performance in Cinderella (Joy) and Red Herring (Lynn).
Frances Limoncelli (Adaptor)
As an adaptor, Frances created The Emperor's Groovy New Clothes and Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch with composer/lyricist George Howe for Lifelineís KidSeries. For the MainStage series, she adapted Mrs. Caliban, based on the award-winning novel by Rachel Ingalls (Non Equity Joseph Jefferson Nomination: New Adaptation); as well as the Dorothy L. Sayers series: Whose Body?, Strong Poison (Non Equity Jeff Award: New Adaptation), Gaudy Night (Non Equity Jeff Award: New Adaptation), and Busmanís Honeymoon (Non Equity Jeff Award: New Adaptation). Frances has also directed several productions at Lifeline, including Simple Jim And His Four Fabulous Friends, The Story Of Ferdinand, Miss Bianca, Half Magic, Cooking with Lard, and the new musical Queen Lucia. Most recently, she directed The Memory of Water for Backstage Theatre Company and Click, Clack, Moo at the Weston Playhouse in Vermont, where she has written and directed numerous cabaret reviews with her longtime collaborator, George Howe.
George Howe (Music & Lyrics)
George Howe is a Jeff Citation Winner (Queen Lucia - Best New Musical 2006) and multiple After Dark Award winning composer/lyricist/cabaret artist. He has composed the scores for many of Lifeline Theatreís KidSeries musicals, including The Emperorís Groovy New Clothes; Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile; Brave Potatoes; Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch; and four musicals by author Doreen Cronin: Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type; Giggle, Giggle, Quack; Duck For President; and Dooby Dooby Moo. His next musical, Arnie The Doughnut, premieres at Lifeline in the spring of 2011. Giggle, Giggle, Quack is currently on a national tour with Dallas Childrenís Theater.
Ann Boyd (Director)
This is Ann's second opportunity to create with Frances Limoncelli here at Lifeline, where they worked together last year on Mrs. Caliban. Other recent work includes directing the "all silent all funny" physical theater comedy group "Bri-Ko" at Stage 773. Ann teaches in the theater departments at Columbia College Chicago and the University of Chicago. As the mother of 4 and 6 year old girls, Ann is so happy to be making theater where they are her best critics.
Aileen McGroddy (Assistant Director)
Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch is Aileen's first show at Lifeline. She is a co-founder The Harlotry & Necromancy Appreciation Society, with which she has directed and performed at various venues in Chicago. Other directing work includes Sign of Rain by Jessica Wright, opening in January as a part of Rhinofest at the Prop Theatre. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago.
Shayna Petit (Stage Manager)
Shayna is excited to be working on her first show with Lifeline Theatre. Recent Chicago credits include Production Assistant for The Nutcracker at The House Theatre of Chicago, Stage Management Intern on Night and Day with Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, and Assistant Stage Manager for No Exit with The Hypocrites. She has also worked as a production intern at Hampstead Theatre in London and Shakespeare Festival/LA in Los Angeles. Shayna is a graduate of the Ithaca College Theatre Department.
Jessica Kuehnau (Costume Designer)
This is Jessica's fourth design at Lifeline, having costumed for the KidSeries productions of Staurt Little, The Stinky Cheese Man and Half Magic. A graduate of Northwestern University, Jessica received her MFA in both set and costume design. Her Chicago credits include A Red Orchid Theatre, Rivendell Theatre, Building Stage, Pegasus Players, Steep Theatre, MPAACT, Circle Theatre and Metropolis Performing Arts Center. Jessica is a founding ensemble member of Adventure Stage Chicago and new ensemble of Backstage Theatre Company. She is currently the resident set designer and design professor at North Park University and full time teaching faculty at Northeastern Illinois University.
Rick Sims (Sound Designer)
Rick is an artistic associate of Lookingglass Theatre Company and an associate designer with Aria Music Designs. Sound Design and Composer credits include: Trust, Icarus, Brothers Karamazov, and The Shaggs (Jeff Nomination) at Lookingglass; Picnic at Writers Theatre; A Separate Peace at Steppenwolf; Colored Museum (BTAA nomination) and Talented Tenth (BTAA nomination) at Congo Square; Company and Little Brother at Griffin; True West/Top Dog Underdog at ATC; Caroline, or Change at Court; 12 Angry Men at Raven; Sweet Charity and Goodbye Girl at Drury Lane; The Attempters at House Theatre; Wedding Play at About Face; Four Places at Victory Gardens; Icarus at the Getty in L.A. with Lookingglass. Other credits: Rick wrote the book, music and lyrics for Hillbilly Antigone, and composed music for Up Against It, Vanishing Twin, Her Name Was Danger, and West for Lookingglass.
Brandon Wardell (Lighting Designer)
This is Brandonís second design at Lifeline; the first was Mrs Caliban last year, and he returns for The Moonstone this spring. He is an Ensemble member with Backstage Theatre Co. and Adventure Stage Chicago, and recently designed the lights for And A Child Shall Lead. Other lighting designs include Aunt Dan and Lemon (Backstage), The Hollow Lands (Steep), and the US Premiere of Harper Regan (Steep). Scenic Designs include Baal (TUTA), Holes (ASC), In Arabia Weíd All Be Kings (Steep), and Dracula (Building Stage). Brandon earned his MFA from Northwestern University and teaches at several Chicago area Universities.
Chelsea Warren (Scenic & Properties Designer)
Chelsea is excited to be back at Lifeline, having designed sets for Mrs. Caliban, Flight of the Dodo, and The Dirty Cowboy, and puppets for The Piano Tuner. Other Chicago projects include: scenery for K. with the Hypocrites, A Separate Peace (Steppenwolf for Young Adults), Ghosts of Treasure Island (Adventure Stage Chicago), A Brief History of Helen of Troy and The Hollowlands (Steep Theatre); costumes for Harper Regan (Steep Theatre), boom (Next Theatre), and The Rose Tattoo and Urinetown (University of Chicago); and production design for Tiny Rooms puppetry workshop (About Face Theatre), Acis & Galatea (Chicago Cultural Center and Millennium Park Stage). International projects include: designing the unveiling event Stones/Air (Australia); sceneography design for Woman In the Dunes (Croatia). Chelsea received her MFA in Stage Design from Northwestern University.
Cortney Hurley (Production Manager)
Cortney is happy to be returning for her fifth season with Lifeline after working on such productions as The Island of Dr. Moreau, and The Mark of Zorro. Previous production management positions include the last four seasons at Strawdog Theatre, Ellen Under Glass with the House Theatre of Chicago, and One False Note with Plasticene. She currently serves as the Production Manager and General Manager at Strawdog Theatre, as well as the Assistant Production Manager at Theater on the Lake (since 2004).
Ian Zywica (Technical Director)
Ian works throughout Chicago as a freelance Scenic Designer and Technical Director. His design work includes The Blue Shadow (Lifeline KidSeries); Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lilly (Barter Theatre); One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (Gift Theatre); Over the Tavern (Noble Fool Theatre); The Robber Bridegroom (Griffin Theatre); Into The Woods (Porchlight Music Theatre); and Under Milk Wood (Caffeine Theatre). Upcoming designs include Meet John Doe (Porchlight Music Theatre) and Jackie and Me (Chicago Children's Theatre).
